2013 Moore tornado

May 20th 2013 was an EF5 tornado that hit Moore Oklahoma. The tornado took a total of 25 lives, 7 of them being children from Plaza Towers Elementary and 377 non fatal injuries. The total cost of damage caused by the tornado was an estimated 2 billion. The tornado lasted a total of 39 minutes and destroyed an estimated 1150 homes. Also as 2024 August 17th this is the most recent EF5 tornado making it the longest gap of an EF5 tornado of 11 years.
